Welcome to the La Costa Canyon Mavericks Soccer Program!

 

La Costa Canyon High School prides itself with excellence both in the classroom and on the athletic field. Head coach Craig Dean, together with his coaching staff, are looking forward to a great high school soccer season.  This welcome letter aims to provide you with information regarding the all important financial side of running a high school soccer program.

 

Funds for athletic programs have not been available from the San Dieguito Unified School District (SDUHSD) for many years.  So where do the funds come from?  The District does fund the employment of just two of our six coaches, as well as the fields and facilities that we use at LCC.  Through the Maverick Athletic Boosters Foundation and our boy’s soccer program, we are able to bridge the gap and fund the other coaches and expenses associated with running a soccer program.  To meet the funding needs of the program, we are completely supported by family donations and money raised through fundraising events.   The reality of high school sports is that if we do not raise enough money each year to cover the cost of maintaining the program, then such programs will not survive.

Our soccer program provides our boys with the chance to develop character, enhance friendships, and to represent their high school in a sport they love to play.  It is an experience that they will all remember for their lifetime.  Please help us support the boys in their commitment to bettering themselves as student-athletes.
